120 Series Aluminium Sunroom
The wide-span line of the range: 2.0 mm profile wall on a deeper frame, for longer glazed fronts and a heavier roof.
120 SERIES ALUMINIUM SUNROOM
The heavy line of the sunroom range
The 120 series is the wide-span member of the Adam Alux sunroom range. Where the 100 series is drawn light, this one is drawn for larger structures: a full terrace enclosure, a sea-view room that runs the width of a house, a glazed bay that has to span further between posts. The section is heavier and the profile wall runs 2.0 mm, so the frame holds its line across longer runs of glass. The drawing below is the factory section for this build.
Ordering follows the same route as the light line, with opening sizes, roof form and finish fixed from the project drawings before extrusion is released.

2.0 mm wall and frame depth
The 2.0 mm profile wall is the defining number of the 120 series. Combined with a deeper frame, it lets the structure carry larger spans than the light line, and that is the purpose of the series: fewer intermediate posts, longer uninterrupted glazing, and a heavier roof frame above. Profile depth increases with the span, and the exact depth for a given opening is confirmed on the project drawing rather than assumed from a table.
As on every Adam Alux line, the extrusion is 6063-T5 primary aluminium run on our own presses, which is what allows the section to be drawn to the span the project needs.
Frame strength and thermal build
The catalogue describes the frame as a high-strength aluminium build rated for impact and safety. In a sunroom that matters most at the roof and at the corners, where wind load and glass weight meet. The posts, the head rail and the roof beams are sized together so the load path stays continuous from the glazing down to the base.
Insulation is built into the same frame assembly. The thermal design of the profile limits heat transfer across the aluminium, so the room holds a steadier temperature and works as a living space rather than a seasonal glazed porch.
Smart roof and coastal finish
The smart roof option carries over to this series: a motorized skylight and motorized shading, both managed from a phone app. Ventilation and sun control are handled from the same place, which suits a large glazed roof where manual operation would be awkward.
For coastal and marine sites the catalogue sets out a corrosion-resistant build and states a service claim of 50 or more years. That claim is the catalogue's own. Grade and surface finishing are specified per project against the exposure of the site.
Growing the structure and ordering
A 120 series sunroom can be carried on into storage or living space. Because the frame is heavy enough for long spans, an added bay reads as part of the same room instead of a bolt-on, and the roof line stays unbroken across the join.
Supply follows the window range: private-label packing, project documentation and export-standard containers, with a profile set or a finished module available as a sample. Provide the opening sizes, roof form and destination market, and the quotation comes back with the dimensional pack.

Asked on every sunroom project
What profile wall does the 120 series sunroom use?
The 120 series runs a 2.0 mm profile wall on a deeper frame section, the heavy line of the sunroom range.
Why specify the heavier 120 frame?
The 2.0 mm wall and deeper section suit larger spans and longer glazed fronts, where the light line would need more intermediate posts.
Does the roof have smart control?
The smart roof option adds a motorized skylight and motorized shading, both operated from a phone app.
How does the frame handle coastal air?
The catalogue specifies the frame for corrosion resistance in marine and coastal environments, with a 50 or more year service claim that is the catalogue's own.
Can the structure be extended into living space?
Yes. The frame and glazing continue into further bays, so the sunroom can take storage or become a full living room.
What aluminium grade is used?
Both sunroom series are extruded in-house from 6063-T5 primary aluminium.
