Performance
Performance of Aluminium Windows and Doors
A buyer comparing aluminium window and door series ends up weighing four things: how the opening resists forced entry, how the door behaves in a fire, how the frame holds temperature, and how much noise gets through. This section covers the four against the Adam Alux range. The casement lines carry multi-point locking as standard, the fire rated doors are marked at 20, 45, 60 and 90 minutes, the thermal break sections run from the 110 to the 118, and the entrance range prints its sound ratings in the catalogue. Each topic page states its figures and where they come from, so a specification can quote them without a second look.

PLANT · EXTRUSION HALL
Security: the lock, the frame and the glass
The casement lines, from the 50 entry window to the 118 flagship, take a multi-point lock layout, and the hardware schedule returns with the dimensional pack. Frames are extruded in 6063-T5 primary aluminium, the sliding lines run on stainless steel tracks, and the entrance range is built on the structural list the catalogue prints: aviation-grade aluminium plate, a 1.0 mm steel plate and a B1 flame-retardant board. Storm market work, impact glazing for the United States and cyclone rated sections for Australia, is confirmed against the opening at quotation.

Read moreFire: four door lines, four ratings
The fire rated range covers hotel, apartment, institutional and metal doors. The catalogue marks each at 20, 45, 60 and 90 minutes as catalogue fire ratings, and compliance is listed to AS 1905.1:2015, AS 1530.4:2014, EN 1634-1:2014+A1:2018 and CAN/ULCS104 with UL listing. The leaf, the frame and the ironmongery are certified as one assembly, and a scanned certificate set travels with the quotation.
Thermal: polyamide bridges and insulating glass
The thermal break lines are the 110 five-chamber at 1.4 mm, the 110 six-chamber at 2.0 mm, the 112 at 2.0 mm and the 118 flagship at 2.0 mm with a 5 mm-27 A-5 mm glass build-up. Polyamide bridges break the metal path, EPDM foam gaskets seal the sash, and the standard glass is 5 mm-20 A-5 mm insulating, with single and triple fitting the same bead. The entrance doors print heat conduction cut by more than 70 per cent as a catalogue rating.
Acoustic: the printed figures
Sound performance carries the catalogue figures: 42 dB sound insulation on the M-24 pivot door, a soundproof fire door model listed at STC 28 to 45 dB under an ASTM-E90 test, and sound insulation level 5 across the entrance range. The insulating glass and the EPDM seals do the work at the glazing line, and the figures for an installed opening follow its own size and build-up.
How the figures are stated
Two kinds of figures appear on these pages. One kind is a catalogue rating, a value printed on the catalogue spreads for the sealed assembly, and the page says so where it stands. The other is a declared characteristic under the CE attestation to EN 14351-1, no. M.2024.206.C101817, where weathertightness, thermal transmittance, sound insulation and load-bearing capacity are declared for the product. Project-specific test documentation for a given configuration is confirmed with the quotation.
FAQ
Frequently asked
What does this section cover?
Four performance topics across the Adam Alux window and door range: security, fire, thermal and acoustic. Each topic page states the figures it uses, whether they are catalogue ratings or declared characteristics, and where the detail comes from.
Are the sound and fire figures measured on our opening?
No. The values are catalogue ratings printed for the sealed assembly, such as the 42 dB on the M-24 pivot door and the 20 to 90 minute fire marks. The figures for an installed opening follow its own size, build-up and the wall it sits in, and project-specific test documentation is confirmed with the quotation.
Which windows carry multi-point locking?
The casement lines: the 50, the 110 five and six chamber, the 112 and the 118. The hardware layout, with handle and lock positions, returns with the dimensional pack on the quotation.
Do the fire rated doors cover our market's standard?
Compliance is listed to AS 1905.1:2015 and AS 1530.4:2014 for Australia, EN 1634-1:2014+A1:2018 for Europe and CAN/ULCS104 for North America, with UL listing. Send the market and the wall type, and the matching line is quoted against them.
Where does the CE attestation sit in this?
Adam Alux holds a CE attestation to EN 14351-1, no. M.2024.206.C101817. It is the framework under which the window and door performance is declared, and the certificates page sets out what it covers for an importer.
