Aluminium Louver and Shading Profiles
Blades and fins that cut the sun off the glass before it lands.
ALUMINIUM LOUVER AND SHADING PROFILES
The blade that lands between the sun and the glass
A louver shades the facade because the blade sits between the sun and the pane, and this line is the blade itself in two forms: the spar-shaped section with the twin chamber inside, and the flat blade that carries the round tube. BY134 at 1.1 mm and 0.448 kg per metre is the standard spar blade in the set, and BY536 at 0.8 mm and 0.267 kg per metre is the lightest blade in the line. The blades mount on the curtain wall grid in front of the glass, and the end covers that close each blade are drawn on the same sheet.

Walls from 0.8 to 6.0 mm
The wall in the blade line follows the duty of the blade. The light blades for the vision zone run at 0.8 to 1.2 mm, BY442 at 1.0 mm and 0.378 kg per metre among them. The structural fins that take the load run at 2.0 to 3.8 mm, with BY250 at 3.8 mm and 10.897 kg per metre the heaviest section in the set. At the top of the range, AHM85149 carries a 6.0 mm wall at 6.484 kg per metre for the heavy fin position. The catalogue lists blade sizes from 40 to 500 with the wall at each, and the size at each position is fixed at quotation against the module width in the facade drawing.
Blade and cover as a set
Each blade ends in a cover, and the sheet draws the cover with the blade it closes. BY192 at 2.0 mm and 0.264 kg per metre is the cover section, and the assembly detail shows the blade with its end cap in more than one view, so the fixing position is visible on the drawing. The blade, the cover and the fixing are quoted as a set, because a louver line that is half specified ends up with a blade from one shop and a cover from another. The line runs 70 sections in the catalogue, across both blade forms.
Matched to the facade finish
The louver sits in front of the glass, so it reads as part of the facade line, and the finish follows the same rule. The blade takes the same finish as the frame it mounts on, with RAL matching where the project needs one colour across the bay. The enquiry carries the module width, the blade size and the finish, and the reply lists the blade, the wall, the cover and the weight per metre for each position. The dimensional pack ships with the quotation, and a sample blade in the chosen finish can be cut before the production order is placed.
