Aluminium Windows and Doors for Saudi Arabia: Heat, Dust and High-Sun Builds

Saudi work is bought against a programme rather than a single house. Residential compounds, villas, hotels, office towers and the giga-scale infrastructure schemes repeat the same few opening types across hundreds of units, and the specification that survives is the one that holds its colour and its seal through a long dry summer. Adam Alux Systems has manufactured aluminium windows and doors since 1997 at three plants in China, and prices Saudi schedules unit by unit.

How a Saudi schedule is grouped

An opening schedule from a Saudi project usually arrives with the elevations already grouped: a shaded side, a west side that takes the afternoon sun, and a roof or podium level with no shade at all. That grouping is the useful part. The same window size can carry different glass on two faces of one building, and quoting a single build for both either overspends on the north face or underperforms on the west. The split is settled while the quotation is assembled.

Glass under a high sun load

Solar control is handled at the unit first and the frame second. The standard window build is a 5-20 A-5 insulating unit, and the 118 casement carries 5-27 A-5, a wider cavity that slows heat transfer further and gives a tall light more stiffness. A coated or tinted outer pane goes on where a facade faces the sun without shade, while frosted and reeded options cover bathrooms and service rooms. Each elevation is priced with its own build-up written into the quotation.

Coating through a long summer

Strong sun bleaches a thin coating from the top face down, and the chalked surface starts holding dust once it does. Fluorocarbon keeps colour and gloss longest under that treatment, so it is the finish quoted for exposed roofs and unshaded elevations. Powder coating with a thermal transfer wood grain covers sheltered faces and interior returns at a lower cost, and RAL matching keeps a whole phase on one colour. Two-tone leaves let the street face and the room read differently.

Sand, gaskets and locking

Sand arrives with the wind and with site traffic, then works into a track until a leaf stops running true. EPDM foam gaskets compress along the whole sash and wipe the edge on every close, while the sill drains openly so grit leaves with the first wash-down instead of packing into a pocket. Casement leaves carry multi-point locking with a keyed handle as standard. The 118 suits tower elevations, and the 112 flush-line sits level with the wall on villa and compound work.

Dammam, Jubail and the pack

Containers leave for Dammam and for Jubail, and the shipping plan follows the phase the site can install rather than a single drop. A dimensional pack goes out on PDF with the quotation, CAD drawings on request, and a sample profile set or one finished test unit can travel before the order is released. Lead times are confirmed with the quotation, since glass and finish move the production slot. Opening sizes, counts per size and the port start the file.

FAQ

Frequently asked

What certification comes with a shipment into Saudi Arabia?

One document travels with the order: CE to EN 14351-1, no. M.2024.206.C101817, issued by UDEM. There is no local listing in Saudi Arabia. Where a project names its own approval route, the drawing set and the glazing build-up are reviewed against it at quotation, before production is booked.

Which series suits a tower rather than a villa?

The 118 casement window goes on tower elevations: six chambers, a 2.0 mm wall, and a 5-27 A-5 unit behind it, with multi-point locking as standard. Villa and compound work usually takes the 112 casement window, five chambers on the same wall thickness with a flush-line sash. Balcony fronts take the 95 sliding window on ball-bearing rollers.

Does a coated pane change the frame?

No. The coating sits in the glazing, so the profile, the rebate and the hardware stay the same whichever unit is chosen. What changes is the solar figure and the colour the facade reads from the road. A coated or tinted outer pane goes on elevations without shade, and clear glass stays on the shaded side, which keeps cost where it earns a return.

How are the frames sealed against sand?

Through the gasket and the drain together. EPDM foam gaskets run the full sash rebate and compress on every close, and the sill drains through an open path, so sand that settles is washed out rather than trapped. A multi-point lock pulls the leaf onto that gasket, which keeps the fine fraction out through a dust event. Track clearance on sliding units is set for the site.

How is a Saudi order started and shipped?

Send the opening sizes with heights, the count per size, and the port. Dammam and Jubail both take FCL containers, and the factory builds the loading plan around the phase the site can install. A dimensional pack on PDF comes with the quotation, CAD on request, plus a sample profile set or a finished test unit. Lead times are confirmed with the quotation.
