Aluminium Windows and Doors for Thailand: Heat, Salt, Screens

A west-facing Bangkok apartment collects sun from late morning until it drops behind the towers, and the air-conditioning answers for it all afternoon. Windows on that elevation carry two jobs: hold the glass area the plan asks for, and keep the heat outside the room. Adam Alux Systems has produced aluminium windows and doors since 1997 at three production bases in China, across 35 series, and quotes Thai work from the opening schedule outward.

The heat load arrives before the view

Bangkok sits under an urban heat island, and a unit on a west face takes the worst of it. A single pane passes that heat almost straight through, while an insulating unit slows it and lets the frame decide how the glass edge behaves. The 50 series casement window carries 5-20 A-5 insulating glass as standard behind a 50 mm frame and a 1.2 mm wall. Tall lights on an exposed corner move to the 118 series casement window, six chambers and a 2.0 mm wall around a 5-27 A-5 cavity.

Salt air along the eastern seaboard

Chonburi and the industrial coast south of it put salt into the air all year, and spray reaches windows several rows back from the water. Salt finds cut ends and coating edges first. Fluorocarbon holds there better than a thin anodised layer, and Adam Alux runs it as a standard finish alongside anodising and thermal transfer wood grain, with RAL matching on request. Stainless steel track and EPDM foam gaskets take out the two other failure points on a coastal facade.

Series that match Thai openings

Balcony fronts and wide living-room openings go to the 95 series sliding window, two or three tracks on ball-bearing rollers with a 1.4 mm wall, or to the 35x16 slim sliding door where the frame should nearly disappear. Bedrooms take the 50 series casement, which ships with a high-transparency insect screen as standard equipment. The 112 series casement window handles the larger openings with five chambers, a 2.0 mm wall and a flush inner line.

Screens, then containers

An insect screen belongs to the window here, since an evening with the glass open is the cheapest cooling a Bangkok unit gets. It is quoted on the opening from the start, because a screen track changes the frame profile. Orders leave through Laem Chabang or Bangkok as FCL containers, and every quotation carries a PDF dimension pack with CAD drawings on request.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Which certificate does Adam Alux hold for Thai projects?

One only: CE attestation to EN 14351-1, certificate no. M.2024.206.C101817, issued by UDEM. No Thai test approval, local marking or energy rating is held, so the glazing build-up and finish are agreed against the project drawing and written into the quotation.

Which series suits a Thai apartment?

The 50 series casement covers most bedroom and living-room openings, with the insect screen included. Balcony fronts take the 95 series sliding window or the 35x16 slim sliding door, and tall exposed lights take the 112 or 118 casement. Sizes and the count per size settle the final line.

Is single glass ever right in Thailand?

For a shaded service area or a small bathroom window it works, and it keeps cost down. On a west face the insulating unit earns its place through the cooling load. 5-20 A-5 ships as standard on the window series, triple glazing on request, and the choice is fixed at quotation.

How are coastal windows sealed?

EPDM foam gaskets run at every leaf edge, drainage is open and self-cleaning so water leaves the sill instead of sitting in it, and casement leaves use a multi-point lock that pulls the sash evenly onto the gasket. Fluorocarbon is the usual finish pick within reach of the sea.

What lead time applies to a Thai order?

It depends on series, glazing and finish, and is confirmed with the quotation once the opening schedule is fixed. Sample profile sets and a finished test window can be sent before the order is placed, and the container is booked after drawing approval.
